Select Program 2009:

2010 Select Program

Select Tryouts for Rookie Ball, Mosquito, PeeWee, Bantam and Midget will begin in May. Look on-line at www.westhillbaseball.com to find out

where and when your try-outs will be held.

The West Hill Baseball League supports the Select or ‘A’ level (SOBA) baseball program. Select is in addition to House League with the intent to encourage players and teams with more consistent and similar competitive skills to be grouped together. Skills, baseball knowledge and competitive development for players are enhanced through the Select or ‘A’ level programs.

2008 was a great year for our Select teams. There were Select teams from Rookie Ball (8 & 9 yr. olds) through Bantam (14 – 15 yr. olds). West Hill Rookie Ball, Mosquito, Peewee and Bantam teams all won their East Toronto Select Loop Provincial qualifying tournaments and participated in the Select Ontario Baseball Association (SOBA) Provincial Championship in Niagara Falls (3 of 4 teams made it to the semi-finals). The ongoing success of West Hill Select is achieved through the support of coaches, parents, players and sponsors. Thank you to all. 

Our Select teams participate in several tournaments and regular loop games on Sunday nights through the baseball season. Select requires earlier and more extensive organization by the league and coaches and a commitment to the team and season by the players. Indoor practices begin in mid-January. The interest and support of parents is also critical to the success of the program.

Eligible players:
Players must be registered and play on a West Hill House league team.
Players must commit for both Select practices and tournaments.

Cost:
There will be an extra cost per player (estimated to be $135 in 2010) to cover uniforms and tournament fees.

Tournament Dates:
Anticipate June through August tournament activity (dates to be confirmed; normally 3-4 tournaments for each team).
