West Hill Baseball 2009 Annual General Meeting, Thursday September 24, 2009 (click on the pictures below to show full size) The Marcus Nazir Award, for a Rookie Ball player who displayed excellent sportsmanship and a love of the game, went to Nathan Gonsalves. Our Volunteer of the Year for 2009 was Debbie Coutu. The Coach of the Year for 2009 was Brian Carrington. Congratulations to our award winners! And thank you to everyone who made the season a success! The West Hill Baseball 2008 Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday, September 25, 2008. The Executives were chosen, and awards were given out to the following people who made exceptional contributions to our league in 2008: (click on the pictures below to show full size) The Marcus Nazir Award, for a Rookie Ball player who displayed excellent sportsmanship and a love of the game, went to Isaac Clasky. Isaac with Al Reeves, and Mike Hull. This award is presented to an inspirational player in memory of Marcus Nazir, who died in January 2004 after battling leukemia. Our Volunteer of the Year for 2008 was Peter Mathews. Our Coaches of the Year were Mike Hull, left, and Steve Kekatos on the right. Our Senior Umpire of the Year was Cara Thorne, left, shown here receiving her award from our Umpire-in-Chief, Dave Black. Our Junior Umpire of the Year was Mitchell Brown, shown here receiving his award from our Umpire-in-Chief, Dave Black. Congratulations to all our award winners! A new executive was chosen, and the contact information for the Executive page of this website has been updated. The 2010 Executive Committee Has Been Named At the General Meeting held on September 24, 2009, the 2010 Executive Committee was elected. We rely on community volunteers to run the league. Our new executive is made up of people from various walks of life, all of whom work hard to make the West Hill Baseball League a success. A listing of our executives, their positions, and contact information can be found on the Executives page of our website. 2007 Marcus Nazir Award Winner Announced Eric Bradshaw received the West Hill Minor Baseball and Families' Marcus Nazir Memorial Award for 2007 during a special ceremony at the Heron Park Community Centre.
