About Us:

The West Hill Baseball League is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers which we always need plenty of. We also offer House League, Select and Rep levels from ages five to twenty-one. Our League is Community oriented to provide fun and learning for kids to develop through sports and team work, we also stress fair play and sportsmanship. The league also allows players from all levels and ages to participate in tournament play. 

The web site has information about registration, all the programs, a contact list, messages from the executive, meeting dates, standings, a sponsor list and other useful links. Look throughout this site for more info.

Some Definitions:

House League: non-competitive recreational baseball; promotes fair play, equal opportunity and player development. Normally takes place under a fixed schedule at your local ballpark.

Select: a more competitive team normally "selected" from the House League to go into tournaments around Metro Toronto.

Rep or "AAA": a competitive baseball team for more advanced players. The team is normally selected by early spring with tryouts beginning in the January/February time frame. These teams usually play in a competitive loop against other rep teams throughout the Metro Toronto area and enter several tournaments each season.

Coach: a team leader and role model who is responsible for organizing the team, running the games, organizing practices, developing players, and managing players & parents.

Convener: a leader who organizes coaches and teams within a division (e.g. T-Ball, Mosquito, Pee Wee, etc.); they help facilitate how the division is run and managed; they help to sort out and solve problems and act as a sounding board; they oversee quality; they help to equalize/balance teams (house league) to make the sport more enjoyable for all; they act as a mediator between coaches and/or parents if necessary.

Umpire: the game "official" who runs and judges the play of the game based on a defined set of rules. Their decision is final and should be respected.

Parent: a key participant in the support and development of the player.
